Geography of Gautam Buddha Nagar, Uttar Pradesh

The district head quarter Greater Noida is located in the north of Uttar pradesh It is under the purview of the National Capital Region (NCR) of India. It is located about 40-kilometre (25 mi) south-east of Delhi and about 20-kilometre (12 mi) south-east of Noida which is an integral part of district and one of the largest industrial townships in U.P.

Geographical Position

District Gautam Budhh Nagar is situated in the west of Uttar Pradesh.The district has area between the two main rivers of india namely Ganga and Yamuna. In the North of the district Ghaziabad and borders of Delhi,in the south Aligarh, In the east Bulandshahar, in the west Border of Haryana State are located. Due to the Sandy and Loam Soil , the main crops of the district are wheat, rice and sugar cane . In some areas, millet is also planted. The total geographical area of the district is 1442 sq. km.

Administrative Divisions

The district is divided into three TEHSILS named as Sadar, Daadri & Jewar. Tehsils are divided into Development Blocks. Dankaur is the development block in the Sadar tehsil, Bisrakh & Daadri are the development blocks in the Daadri Tehsil, Jewar is the development block in the Jewar tehsil., Uttar Pradesh Map.

Source of Living

The main source of living for the people of this district is agriculture.The main crops of the district are wheat, rice and sugar cane . In some areas, millet is also planted. However, due to Noida & Greater Noida industrial area under Bisrakh block , the main means of livelihood here are industrial workers, technical, engineering & management services.

Economical Structure

Being in the purview of ncr, the development of the district is moving with a fast pace.Noida & Greater Noida of the district are world class industrial hubs.In Noida / Greater Noida industrial areas many large scale industries have been established by the multinational companies like Daewoo Motor, HONDA MANUFACTURING, CL, BPL, LG, HCL , etc. Industrialisation is taking place in other areas of the district also.So, in terms of economical structure the district is important not just at state level but also at national level. 25% of the total revenue of Uttar Pradesh is recieved from Gautam Buddh Nagar.

Greater Noida is an urban settlement and commercial area which is located in the south eastern part of the capital city of New Delhi. It is a sub city of  Delhi and falls under the National Capital Region of India and is located very close to Noida which ranks among the largest industrial townships in Asia. 

 Greater Noida in Uttar Pradesh experiences a sub tropical climate like other parts of the region. The summer months are hot while the winter months are cold. Dry weather mostly prevails throughout the year. The most suitable time when travelers should travel to Greater Noida is between the months of October and March. 

 There are a number of tourist attractions in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. There are a number of religious and cultural sites in the region. Various sightseeing tours are organized to these tourist spots.

 Greater Noida is also a well known commercial and industrial center in Asia. Plenty of renowned business houses and global IT giants have their branches in the city. People from various parts of India and abroad come to work in Great Noida. 

 There are lots of hotels in Greater Noida where travelers can enjoy pleasant accommodation with a blend of luxury. There are luxury hotels, middle range hotels as well as economy hotels to cater to travelers. Most of them can be easily reached. 

Reaching Greater Noida in Uttar Pradesh is easy and convenient. The nearest airport is located in the city of Delhi which is just an hour’s drive from Noida. The nearest railway station is at Noida. Road transport links the city with Delhi, Amritsar, Jalandhar, and Ludhiana, Gurgaon, Ghaziabad and other places. There are expressways which link the place with the surrounding area.

Amusement Park
To light up Noida's skyline, International Recreational Park Ltd. has been allotted a 140-acre plot in Sector 38A to develop an amusement park without parallel. As much as 119 acres will be dedicated to theme amusement and entertainment. This will comprise: Fantasy World (covering approximately 47.03 acres), Bollywood Film Park (13.17), Entertainment Village and World (22.4), Water World (13.58) and parking (11.2). The remaining 21 acres will be dedicated to commercial facilities supportive of the park. 

Noida Habitatat Centre
As Noida is a flourishing area of the National Capital Region, it has been decided to establish the Noida Habitat/Convention Centre (NHC) for societal, cultural and intellectual development at the national and international levels. Its objective will be to awaken and promote the environment of society's intellectual activities. Keeping the convenience of all the residents, industrialists, businessmen and traders of the city in mind, the NHC will run several cultural programmes and intellectual seminars. The Centre will house a high-level library and world-class auditorium, conference and banquet hall as well as club facilities, restaurant, fitness centre, yoga and de-stress centre, amenities for sports and leisure, service apartments/rooms, utility store, food court, mini-audo/movie theatre, function hall, training room/classroom, swimming pool, exhibition hall, art gallery and business centre. On its 15-acre site, the NHC will promote all-round progress in the area and become a major attraction of the city. 

Impetus for sports & games
The stadium at Sector 21 is being developed to hold international-level sports and games. In addition, along the Expressway, World Nature and DSC Road, the establishment of a sports complex spread over 450 acres in Sector 101 involving two large indoor stadia is being planned where badminton, table tennis, weightlifting and basketball competitions can be organised. Further, the Yamuna water body along the Okhla Barrage has been identified for water sports, especially rowing. Preparations to create world-class facilities for the 2009 National Games to be held in Uttar Pradesh, are under way in Noida

Golf Course & Cultural Center
NOIDA has also a Golf course of International Standard. The authority has also undertaken the construction of Indira Gandhi Cultural Center, which will serve as a forum for various socio-cultural activities of this integrated township.
