Patna, Sept. 12: When the entire world was basking in Id celebrations, one mother was waiting for a miracle. Just then, the phone rang and the marvel happened.
Thirteen-year-old Mohammad Zafir, son of Nurjahan Bibi, went missing three months ago. He was finally traced in Calcutta. Bibi received a call on Id from the team of brandbihar.com, who informed her that her son, Mohammad Zafir, has been found. Zafir went to Calcutta with his nephew in search of jobs but he went missing from there.
“We got a call four days back from Child Life, an NGO based in Calcutta. They informed us that they have found a boy who can hardly speak anything but his village name — Sujaanpur in Bihar. Then we tried to track his family members,” said Utpal Kumar, one of the founders of brandbihar.com.
Kumar said: “As we have 1,200 volunteers all over Bihar we asked them to find his family members. We came to know yesterday that his family is based in Sujaanpur. We also crosschecked his identity from his neighbours, which was authentic. Then we called his mother and spoke to her over the phone. His mother was almost in tears after hearing the news.”
Nurjahan Bibi told The Telegraph: “Allah ne meri Id ki namaz sun li (God has accepted by prayers). I had lost all hope that I will ever see the face of my son. But Allah is great. My husband Mohammad Jasso has passed away and after my son went missing, my dreams were shattered because Zafir is my only child.”
She said: “We will visit Calcutta in four days to bring him back. I am dying to see his face. I am obliged to the entire team of brandbihar.com, who managed to get my son back.”

Earlier, eight families were reunited with the help of the website designed and managed by Utpal Kumar, Prabhat Kumar and Saurabh Kumar. Two years ago, the trio created the website, which provides accurate information about each of Bihar’s cities, towns, villages and panchayats. “We launched this website with the view of promoting Bihar as a brand but it has been serving broader perspective by uniting people,” said Utpal Kumar.
